Relaxation Massage

Our bodies heal and recover the most during sleep and deep relaxation. The goal of this massage is to help your muscles heal through relaxation. If you're experiencing general tension in your body due to stress, anxiety, or poor posture, this massage is for you. Relaxation Massage is also perfect for anyone that just wants to let go for a bit.

Swedish Massage

Sometimes we need a bit more focused bodywork to help the healing process. If you're experiencing a more specific discomfort in your body, Swedish Massage can help. The techniques used in this massage can help ease tension due to workout routines, muscle strain, car accidents, and everything in between.

Lymphatic Massage

The lymphatic system plays a crucial part in our immune system health. When the body is recovering from a trauma (such as surgery or serious injury), proper lymphatic function in the body is very important. Lymphatic Massage works with the body’s immune system to encourage better flow of lymph fluid through the lymph nodes. Our lymph nodes are our defense against illness. This massage requires light pressure and repetitive techniques designed to manually direct lymph fluid towards the lymph nodes. It can also be incorporated with Swedish techniques if you would also like sore areas or "knots" to be addressed in specific areas of the body.

Prenatal Massage

I consider it a privilege to assist you with the physical and emotional changes that occur during this exciting (and sometimes stressful!) time in your life. This massage is highly customized to ensure the comfort and safety of you and your baby. I offer the traditional side-lying massage, as well as a specialized pregnancy massage cushion that allows you to lay on your stomach while fully supporting the abdomen (a favorite among my past mothers-to-be).

*Note: If your pregnancy is considered high-risk, please obtain written approval from your doctor prior to your appointment

Looking for Deep Tissue?

I'm often asked why Deep Tissue is not on my list of services. The answer is that I have found that more often than not, clients are actually looking for deep pressure, which I certainly do offer. The goal of Deep Tissue Massage is to treat the "deep" muscles in the body that lie below the larger muscles that are closer to the surface of the skin. Many find the techniques used to get to those deeper muscles painful. I always aim to stay below your pain threshold because when the body experiences pain, the involuntary response of your body is to become tense. That is the opposite of what we want! I am happy to use as much pressure as necessary in order to provide an effective treatment session, however that pressure should never cause you pain. Please don't hesitate to email me or call if you have any questions regarding Deep Tissue work or the pressure that I use during my sessions.
